A very interesting vintage in Argentina, resulting in some very good,
age-worthy reds. A cold winter was followed by a hot spring and summer, leading many
producers to believe that this would be a very early vintage, as in Chile,
however a change in the weather in January pushed the harvest back. Cool
weather continued in February and March. Although this proved
beneficial for the red wines adding acidity and flavour, the whites will
be quite light because of some dilution from the rain. The producers with the
best technology in the winery will make good whites for early to
medium-term consumption.
