Some excellent Chardonnays were produced by growers who harvested early and whose fruit remained virus-free. However, the vast majority should have been consumed by now.

A difficult year for the reds, with the majority of the wines being rather green and lean. However, those producers whose vineyards were disease-free and who made a rigorous selection at harvest time, have produced some notable wines.
