For the first time on record, the official start date for Chablis - the ban de vendanges- was declared before that of the Cote d'Or. Even so, some growers asked permission to begin picking before the official Chablis start date of 16th September.

After a long cold winter and a coolish spring, the vines enjoyed excellent summer weather in June and July especially. Though August was cooler, the return of the sun in September allowed for a healthy, abundant harvest. The wines willd develop well over the medium to long term.
