A very good vintage in Sauternes with an Indian summer in Bordeaux that ripened the grapes quickly and aided the spread of botrytis. The wines lack the concentration of the 96s and 97s but are stylish, fine, elegant and highly aromatic. They are developing well with age and will be drinking well into the next decade.
